I started off with some poses using my lightbox and did a colour study.

There's a gas-heating mounted to the wall, so I thought it would be neat to integrate that into the painting.

Being spoon fed we used to parrot "ananananan" in response to our mothers encouraging "and another one". For sketching faces I don't need encouraging. In itself the face is encouragement enough. It's the intangible diversity of the human features that I like exploring with the pen. And I fancy thinking, that in the drawing I quite possibly might capture the likeness of someone unknown.

I'm still on that fabulous ink-brush. The last couple of ink drawings I coloured in Photoshop. So this time I wanted to go analog all the way again and applied the colour with Copic markers. I like the feel of them and enjoy drawing with them, but I find it really hard to get a coloured drawing digitised. It seems like the contrasts go all over the place, some of the colours become too saturated and those nuances of shading get lost in the process of scanning. So I end up digitally remastering the scan to a state of compromise.

I found this image on my bed sheet and did not dare to withhold such a revelating relic. So Jesus came back from the dead? As far as belief goes, he might as well have been an undead vampire. That would explain some of the mysteries surrounding his person. I for one have not seen any depictions of him within the vicinity of garlic. Coincidence? And it would too explain vampires irrational fear of crosses.

This happened on the train to Augsburg. I used a whole bunch of different pens. Some black ink, some coloured markers, blue pencil and tipp-ex white. I should get back to more mixed media drawings. Also I was at the mall and have decided to head back soon and sketch some of the kids hanging out there. The variety of clothing styles and characters are just unimaginable.

"brb" - another word abbreviation stemming from chat talk, like lol or rofl those inevitable responses to youtube links, but less common and so lot's of people don't get it, which leaves me wondering why I didn't write it out in the first place and spare the explanation. It's the acronym for "be right back" and in this case refers to the uttered excuse before that moment of ponder after eating whilst the others wait inside. Though sometimes I'm inclined to secretely misuse it as a swear, short for "bum rug burns" which dogs must get when dragging their itching ass across the carpet, I imagine but now wish I hadn't. But that's way off topic, so I'll leave you to enjoy the view.
